🎶🎸 Trinity River Blues Society Website Musician’s Corner Feature: Brooks Barli 13-year-old prodigy!🎸🎶

A true rhythm prodigy, Brooks’ journey with the drums began before he could even walk, banging on his dad’s and grandparents’ drum kits while still in diapers. What started as simple curiosity and a love for music quickly turned into a serious passion. At the age of 13, Brooks’ drumming has reached a level of proficiency that sets him apart, earning him regular invitations from local musicians and drummers to “sit in” during their sessions and performances. With the guidance of seasoned drummers and the mentorship of some of the music industry’s finest, Brooks is well on his way to following in the musical footsteps of his grandparents, who are professional musicians. As a member of the Izaiah Forman Trio, Brooks has already made his mark, performing live at gigs and contributing to recording sessions. He also sits in as “Buster Blues” with The Texas Bluesmen, a local tribute band. His versatility extends beyond traditional music settings too, as he plays drums for the student worship group at his church on Wednesday nights. Outside of drumming, Brooks’ other passion is his love for animals, particularly reptiles. He owns snakes, geckos, frogs, insects, and tarantulas, in addition to the family’s cat and two dogs. Whether he’s playing music or caring for his animals, Brooks manages to balance both worlds with the energy and dedication of a young teenager determined to make an impact in every area he pursues.
