“Road to Memphis January 2025”
TRBS and the IBC
TRBS participates in the IBC by sending a band, a solo/duo act to the competition. We have often had great success with several of our bands and solo/duos reaching the semifinals. Each act competes in the first two nights of the competition in two different locales. The judges select an act from each location to compete against other semifinalists to choose who goes on to the finals! The Challenge also features a “Best Self-Produced CD” contest and offers a “Youth Showcase” to encourage young up and coming blues artists. TRBS has also nominated KNON 89.3 The Voice of the People for the “Keeping the Blues Alive Award”!
The winners of TRBS “North Texas Blues Challenge “that will be representing TRBS, Dallas, Ft. Worth and North Texas are the Izaiah Forman Trio/Youth, EJ Mathews Solo/Duo, and The Shake Anderson Band!
IBC will be held January 7-11, 2025, on Beale Street in Memphis, Tennessee! Purchase your 2025 IBC Pass by using the following link.

You can do so by donating from our website by clicking the link of the artist you would like to support. TRBS also has a generic donation link if you would like to support all 3. There will also be a “Road to Memphis” fundraising concert at The Cottage on November 17 from 2pm-9pm. TRBS will have a raffle and a silent auction. Please come out and support “The Road to Memphis”!
The International Blues Challenge represents the worldwide search for blues bands and solo/duo performers ready for the international stage, yet just needing that extra big break. The world’s largest gathering of blues musicians takes place on Beale Street in Memphis, Tennessee. Over 20 clubs host the challengers and fans for a three-day competition. In addition to the blues music competition, the IBC event week offers seminars, showcases, master classes, film screenings, networking events, book signings, and receptions for blues societies, fans, and professionals.
