Aaron Burton Trio Wins Trinity River Blues Society’s North Texas Blues Challenge Best Self-Produced CD Category.

Their CD will be representing TRBS, Dallas, Fort Worth, and North Texas at the International Blues Challenge (IBC) this January in Memphis! 

The Aaron Burton Trio — featuring Aaron Burton (guitar/vocals), William “Stompin’ Bill” Johnston (harmonica), and Dirk Cordes (drums) — has been crowned the 2025 North Texas Blues Challenge champions by the Trinity River Blues Society.

Their self-produced CD “If Mama Ain’t Happy, Nobody’s Happy” earned top honors, securing their spot to compete at the 2026 International Blues Challenge (IBC) in the Best Self-Produced CD Category in Memphis, Tennessee, this January 2026.
